HOEKSTRA FRUIT FARMS

Over the years, Hoekstra Fruit Farms have been proactive in breeding new varieties of table grapes, and have been involved with international breeding initiatives and importing new varieties into South Africa.

Rows upon rows of individual vines of new cultivars grow on the farm Windmeul. There are quite a variety – white, red, black, seeded, seedless, big berries, small berries, round berries and oval berries. A myriad of flavours and tastes. And ever onwards, as our motto is: For a new variety to be a commercial success, it has to be an improvement on existing ones.

Apart from Nancy, which is situated on Cecilia Street in Paarl, all the other farms are in the Agter- Paarl and are accessible from the R44 route. Each farm unit has a farm manager, an assistant farm manager and a few supervisors, each with a team of farm labourers.

The administration for all the farms are done from the main office on Nancy.

The new cultivars which we have developed over the last few years, are what we call the Delight Series. This includes the following:
